Prince of Persia -Sands of Time

Prince of Persia 12a
2d version
Some fighting

We went to see this film at the cinema in Carlisle. I'm going to ask Charle what he thought of it.

T: Did you enjoy this film and why?
C: Yes, because it was good.
T: What was good about it?
C: Well let's see; the fact that he could jump further than anybody else, that he could jump from building to building.
T: It was a good plot too. Was there anything bad about it?
C: There wasn't anything bad about it
T: It was kind of scary when all the snakes came out and I felt sorry for the good character who got killed in the knife-throwing.
This was the type of film that I really like. My favourite bit was when the main character (Dabas, I think?) found out what his wicked uncle was plotting.
C: It was easy to work out who the baddie was because he was also the baddie in Thunderbirds the Movie.
T: and he was played by a Brit...(all baddies seem to be played by Brits).
C: so Tim what's your recommendation?
T: 5 ***** again, what about you Charlie?
C: yeh 5 *****. Are we going to review some of the rubbish movies we've seen?
T: ummm...I'd only give Kindergarten Cop 3 *** Arnie's much better at being the Terminator. Maybe we should talk about what we think of Schwartzenegger movies next time.

update

We've been very busy watching films, football and Top Gear. Also when it's sunny it's good to play outside.
We've been enjoying some old movies that have been recorded on the hard drive. I've enjoyed Stuart Little and Romancing the Stone and Spiderman 3 (some kissing, yuck!)Charlie has been watching the Fantastic Four and he thinks he's going to watch Whisper of the Heart, because he loves Studio Ghibli stuff except it is in japanese with english subtitles. So he probly won't.

On the hard drive still to watch are Scaramouche, Gunfight at the OK Corral, Batman Begins. We also have Mamma Mia from Lovefilm and mum says she's going to send it back if we don't watch it soon.

Let me have your recommendations.

Tim

It's all gone quiet over there...

Come on lads...what's happened to your film reviews? Don't say you've got World Cup Fever. I'm waiting for the next movie...I believe it's going to be Mamma Mia. Interesting to know what the 'bleagh factor' is for that one.

Time to get watching.

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes (2009)
cert 12
starring Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law
containg some violence/fighting/hanging

Q: So Tim was there too much kissing?
T: No. It wasn't bad at all.
Q: Phew! What did you think of the film?
T: I thought it was a really good film.
Q: What did you like about it?
T: I liked the plot and the fighting. I especially liked how Holmes planned what he was going to do, and you saw that in slow motion, and then he did it and it happened in real time but you knew what was going to happen because you'd seen him plan it. I also thought the villain was great, really bad, he was called Lord Blackwood Mark Strong). Lots of good deaths.
Q: Who would you recommend this film to?
T: Anyone who likes a good story that rips along. I'd recommend it to anyone between 9 and 60. I think it was a bit frightening for Charlie...but Charlie says he liked it. I think it was too much for my Grandma too (she's over 60).
Q: star rating?
T: 5 (*****)

Q: Ok Charlie your turn...was there too much kissing?
C: No, well, there wasn't much.
Q: Did you like it?
C: Yeah!
Q: What did you like about it?
C: It was very funny and the violent scenes were very violent.
Q: Was it scary?
C: No, well I didn't think think it was scary.
Q: Who would you recommend this film to?
C: People over 12, that's why it's a 12 certificate. Unless they watch it with their mum and dad.
Q: How many stars do you give it?
C: ***************
Q: That's 15 stars, I guess that means it was pretty good?
C: It was beast.
